What this tool does
Looks up a domain’s SPF TXT record. SPF lists, in DNS, which servers may send mail using that domain name.
How to use it
- Enter the domain to check.
- Run it to see the SPF record contents.
- Read the include entries for authorised sending services, and the trailing all qualifier for how other servers are treated.
Worked example
Entering example.com looks for a TXT record beginning with v=spf1. No such record means SPF is not configured.
Frequently asked questions
- Should I use ~all or -all?
- -all rejects servers outside the list; ~all only marks them as suspicious. If you have mapped every sending path, -all is stronger — but a missed path will have real mail blocked.
- Can I publish two SPF records?
- No. A domain must have exactly one v=spf1 record; two or more cause validation to fail. Combine services with include inside a single record.
What this tool does not cover
It shows the record string. It does not expand the full include chain to judge whether you exceed the ten-DNS-lookup limit.
