Enter your values and run the tool to see your result.

What this tool does

Queries a domain’s DNS records. The default, MX, lists the servers that receive its mail and their priorities; you can also select A, AAAA, NS, CNAME, TXT, SRV, and more.

How to use it

  1. Enter the domain.
  2. Pick a record type; leave MX to see mail servers.
  3. Run it to list the records.
  4. For MX, a lower number means higher priority.

Worked example

Choosing MX for example.com returns its mail hosts with priority values. No MX record means the domain is not set up to receive mail.

Frequently asked questions

What do the priority numbers mean?
They set the order a sender tries. With 10 and 20, senders try 10 first and fall back to 20. Equal values are tried in a spread.
MX exists but mail does not arrive.
DNS alone cannot tell you that. Check the receiving server’s configuration, spam filtering, and your SPF, DKIM, and DMARC policies.

What this tool does not cover

Lookups go to the external DNS service shown in the tool. It does not show worldwide propagation, so a record you just changed may not appear yet.
