What this tool does

Looks up a domain’s DMARC policy TXT record and shows what it contains. DMARC tells receiving servers how to treat mail that fails SPF and DKIM checks.

How to use it

  1. Enter the domain to check — the domain that sends mail, not a subdomain.
  2. Run it to see the _dmarc record lookup result.
  3. Read the p tag for the policy level and rua for where reports are sent.

Worked example

Entering example.com looks up the TXT record at _dmarc.example.com. No record means DMARC is not configured.

Frequently asked questions

Is p=none a problem?
It is a monitoring stage: reports only, no enforcement. That is normal early on, but left in place it blocks nothing. Teams usually review reports and move up to quarantine, then reject.
The record resolves but mail still bounces.
DMARC depends on SPF and DKIM outcomes. After checking DMARC here, run the SPF record checker and the DKIM checker too.

What this tool does not cover

It reports what the record says; it cannot guarantee how a receiver will actually treat your mail. Lookups are sent to the external DNS service shown in the tool.
