What this tool does
Converts images between PNG, JPEG, and WebP. When exporting to a lossy format you can set the quality value.
How to use it
- Choose the image file.
- Pick the output format.
- For JPEG or WebP, set quality between 0 and 1.
- Run it and check the resulting dimensions and byte count.
Worked example
A 1600×1200 PNG converted to PNG is re-encoded at the same dimensions. Choosing JPEG fills transparent areas with white.
Frequently asked questions
- Which format should I pick?
- JPEG or WebP are smaller for photos; PNG suits images where text, lines, or transparency matter. WebP handles both but may not open in very old environments.
- Does it convert HEIC or AVIF?
- Only formats your browser can read are accepted as input. For HEIC use the dedicated converter; output is limited to PNG, JPEG, and WebP.
What this tool does not cover
Files are processed in your browser. Animations become still images, and colour profiles and EXIF data are not guaranteed to survive.
