Frequently asked questions

Why divide by nine?
A yard is three feet, so one square yard is 3 × 3 = 9 square feet.
Is this used for carpet or concrete orders?
Carpet and ready-mix are often sold by the yard in the US. Note that concrete is sold by cubic yards — volume, not area.

What this tool does not cover

Rectangles only. Divide irregular spaces into rectangles and add them.
