Adding UTM parameters without losing an existing query
A URL may already contain a query such as ?q=search and a fragment such as #section. Appending another question mark can produce the wrong address. Parse the URL structure before adding parameters.
This builder sets utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign from their respective fields. It preserves unrelated parameters and the fragment, replacing any existing values for the same UTM keys.
Do not put private or secret values into campaign names: URLs can be shared or logged. Creating a UTM link does not itself collect visits; reporting depends on the destination site’s analytics configuration.
